Access Statement For Threeways
(Self-catering)
Introduction
Our self catering apartment is on two floors above an outdoor
clothing shop. We have tried to provide as much information
as possible
in this statement. If you have any queries please contact us.

The nearest bus station is approximately 50 metres across the
road
The nearest train station (Penrith) is 18 miles away. There is
a regular bus service from the front of the rail station to Keswick
Bus Station, close to Threeways.
Shops, including a supermarket, are a couple of minutes walk.
The theatre, cinema and lake are about 10 minutes walk.
Car hire and taxis are available in the town.
Guests need to be able to manage stairs.
The nearest RADAR toilet is in Central Car Park approximately
200 metres from Threeways.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
There is one allocated parking space adjacent to the external
staircase leading to the front door.
The parking area is level tarmac and there is a kerb between
the parking space and the external staircase.
There is no street parking.
The external staircase has 18 steps which are 18 cm high, 27
cm deep and 100 cm wide. It has handrails on both sides.
A parking permit is available for a long stay car park in Keswick,
which is 200 metres from Threeways.
Main Entrance
The entrance to the porch area has 1 step 17 cm high, 141 cm
deep and 140 cm wide.
The door key needs to be accessed on arrival from the key safe
on the wall in the porch. Numbers need to be pressed on the
key pad to open the key safe.
The front door is 83 cm wide and the key hole lock is 77 cm
high
Inside the front entrance is a corridor 82 cm wide which leads
to the living room.
There is one internal staircase with 15 stairs leading to 2
bedrooms and the bathroom. Each stair is 80cm wide and 20 cm
high. There
is a hand rail on the right.
General Internal features
The corridor is 82 cm wide with contrasting colours for skirting,
carpet and walls.
The living area, bedrooms and hallways are carpeted.
Smoke alarms are fitted in the living room and landing.
Living Room
Door width is 71 cm
The lounge, dining area and kitchen are open plan.
There is an oval table (moveable side to side) with legs on each
corner. Floor to lowest point of table (underspace) is 61 cm, length
is 180 cm, width is 90 cm and height is 73 cm.
The minimum free space between table and wall is at least 70 cm
(and more space could be created).
Chairs (moveable) – 6 wooden chairs with seat cushions and
no arms.
There is free space of 300 cm x 300 cm clear of doors and furniture.
Flooring is short pile carpet throughout.
Furniture is moveable and all is non-feather.
Two sofas (three-seater and two-seater) and one easy chair are
provided and all with arms.
A Teletext TV is provided with remote control and also DVD, video
and CD players.
There are both central lights and table lamps.
All internal doors are fire doors.
Kitchen
The kitchen is open plan
with dining and living areas.
Worktop height is 90 cm.
Sink is 90 cm high with mixer tap and a cupboard underneath.
Gas hob is 90 cm high.
Electric oven door is drop down. The height of the highest shelf
is 55 cm and can be accessed from the side.
Flooring is vinyl.
There is at least 76 cm of free space between all furniture and
worktops.
Lighting - spotlights recessed in ceiling.
Fridge with small freezer above. Highest shelf in fridge is 65
cm.
Crockery is kept in a cupboard at head height and cutlery is
in a drawer at waist height.
There is a cordless kettle.
Bedroom 3 (lower floor)
Door width is 72 cm.
Two single beds provided – 3 ft.
Bed height is 56 cm from floor to top of mattress.
Largest transfer space available to left or right of bed is 120
cm.
Largest free space clear of doors and furniture is 190cm x 110
cm.
TV with remote control.
Shower-room (lower floor)
Door width is 66 cm.
Toilet seat height is 42 cm.
Shower cubicle (70 cm x 70 cm) with threshold of 32 cm.
Free space in shower room (free of doors and furniture) is 70 cm
x 100 cm.
Flooring is vinyl.
Bedroom 1 (upper floor)
Door width is 72 cm
Double bed provided – 4ft 6in
Bed height is 66 cm from floor to top of mattress.
Non-feather duvet and pillows provided.
Largest transfer space available to left or right of bed is 90
cm.
Bed is movable if more space is required to one side.
Largest free space clear of doors and furniture is 190 cm x 160
cm.
Bedrooom 2 (upper floor)
Door width is 72 cm.
Two single beds provided – 3 ft.
Bed height is 56 cm from floor to top of mattress.
Largest transfer space available to left or right of bed is 90
cm.
Largest free space clear of doors and furniture is 230 cm x 90
cm.
Bathroom (upper floor)
Door width is 66 cm.
Bath height is 53 cm. Integral bath rails available on both sides.
Free space in bathroom (free of doors and furniture) is 180 cm
x 100 cm.
Toilet seat height is 43 cm.
Space to the left of the toilet is 40 cm, and 30 cm to the right.
Flooring is vinyl.
There is no vanity unit under the washbasin.
Grounds and Gardens
There is no garden or outside seating area.
Additional Information
The property is non-smoking.
Dogs are accepted by arrangement.
There is generally good network coverage for mobile phones.
